A. METROGOV project

Metropolitan governance in Spain: institutional building and models (METROGOV). I have been the IP of this project, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science (PID2019-106931GA-I00), from 2020 to 2023.

In Spain, and contrary to the current trends in Europe, the metropolitan areas have no political recognition, except from the case of Barcelona. This project wants to answer two main questions. How are Spanish metropolitan areas governed? Why does Spain represent an anomaly in Europe?
